In a shocking admission, Mahmoud Khalil, a leader of the anti-Israel protests at Columbia University, openly defended Hamas’s October 7 massacre, calling it an unavoidable and necessary act.

Speaking about the brutal terrorist attack that killed over 1,200 Israelis—including women, children, and elderly—Khalil chillingly stated:

“It felt frightening that we had to reach this moment in the Palestinian struggle. We couldn't avoid such a moment.”

Even more disturbingly, he claimed the massacre had to happen to disrupt a potential Saudi-Israeli peace deal, which he described as “very imminent.” His words reveal a dark truth: for some activists, violence isn’t a last resort—it’s a strategic tool.

The Dangerous Ideology Behind the Protests
