The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) released new footage showing an Israeli helicopter intercepting a drone launched from Yemen by Houthi rebels. The interception comes during a tense week in which at least 10 drones targeted Israel.
One of the drones managed to strike Ramon Airport in southern Israel, underscoring the growing regional threat posed by the Houthis’ expanding drone campaign.
The IDF has heightened its aerial defense measures, with helicopters and missile defense systems on alert to counter incoming threats. Military officials stressed that Israel remains committed to protecting its citizens and key infrastructure from cross-border attacks.
The Houthi movement, backed by Iran, has previously targeted Israel and other regional states, raising concerns over escalation in the Red Sea and Middle East. Security analysts warn that such attacks could disrupt civilian air travel and further destabilize the already volatile region.
As tensions rise, Israel is expected to continue its proactive defense operations while coordinating with allies to address the growing drone threat.
