President Donald Trump announced a bold new economic plan to return wealth directly to American workers, revealing that his administration will issue a $2,000 “dividend” to middle- and lower-income citizens — funded entirely by tariff revenues collected from foreign nations and multinational corporations.  

“We’re going to issue a dividend to our middle income people, and lower income people, of about $2,000,” Trump said. “And we’re going to use the remaining tariffs to lower our debt. Trillions of dollars have been taken in or gotten in terms of investment, from the tariffs.”  

The plan underscores Trump’s signature America First economic philosophy — using trade leverage not only to protect U.S. industries but to return tangible financial benefits directly to working families. According to senior officials, the proposal would distribute a one-time payment of approximately $2,000 per qualifying household, funded by the ongoing tariff surplus.
