Ambassador Huckabee has accused Hamas of manipulating food distribution in Gaza to maintain power, making controversial remarks about the group’s leadership.

Discussing the issue, Huckabee claimed that Hamas actively resists efficient aid delivery systems — such as those employed by the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF) — because they cut into profits from selling food on the black market and reduce the group’s control over the population.

In sharp language, Huckabee added: “None of them are hungry — instead of food, they could use some Ozempic,” referencing a popular weight-loss drug.

The comments have sparked criticism from some quarters, while supporters argue they highlight corruption and abuse within Hamas-controlled areas. Human rights organizations have long raised concerns about the diversion of aid in Gaza, though the political and humanitarian complexities remain highly contentious.
