As the government shutdown drags on, frustration continues to mount across Georgia — and House Majority Leader Steve Scalise isn’t holding back. In a fiery statement, Scalise condemned Senator Jon Ossoff, accusing him of siding with radical left-wing donors instead of helping reopen the government and deliver relief to struggling families.

“While Americans miss paychecks and fight to make ends meet,” Scalise said, “Democrats are busy appeasing the far-left and padding their campaign coffers.”

The criticism comes amid revelations that Ossoff has reportedly raked in millions in donations from liberal mega-donors, even as federal workers and Georgia families face growing uncertainty. Scalise argued that Democrats’ refusal to negotiate is driven by ideological loyalty — not concern for the American people.

According to Scalise, the Democratic “playbook” prioritizes open-border handouts and NGO slush funds over working-class Americans. He pointed to the $601 million in global refugee grants that continue to fund resettlement programs for noncitizens while veterans and families at home are left waiting for government services.

“The shutdown isn’t about policy — it’s about priorities,” Scalise said. “Democrats could end this today by cutting waste and securing the border. Instead, they’re bending the knee to Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and the radical activist class.”

Republicans argue that the solution is clear: fund veterans, secure the border, and put America first. But as the standoff stretches on, the contrast in priorities couldn’t be starker. Every day the government remains closed, Georgia families lose — while Democrats seem more concerned with appeasing donors and progressive elites.
