Vice President JD Vance delivered an emotional and resolute address at a Turning Point USA event on December 21, calling on conservatives to honor the legacy of Charlie Kirk by standing firm in faith, defending America’s core values, and pressing forward together toward victory.
Speaking to a packed audience, Vance reflected on the September 10 assassination of Kirk, the founder of Turning Point USA and one of the most influential conservative activists of his generation. Rather than framing the tragedy as a moment of retreat, Vance urged supporters to treat it as a call to action.
According to the Vice President, honoring Kirk’s legacy means more than remembrance. It means continuing the work Kirk dedicated his life to: protecting free expression, restoring national sovereignty, securing the border, and advancing economic policies that prioritize American workers and families. Vance emphasized that these goals are inseparable from faith, personal courage, and unity in the face of intimidation.
Vance also addressed what he described as an increasingly hostile environment for conservatives, noting that political violence and ideological extremism thrive when institutions fail to defend basic freedoms. He warned that retreating in response to fear would only validate those who seek to silence dissent through force.
Charlie Kirk was shot and killed at Utah Valley University in Orem, Utah, in an attack that shocked the conservative movement nationwide. The suspect, Tyler Robinson, who authorities say expressed anti-conservative motives, made his first in-person court appearance on December 11. The case remains a focal point in discussions about political violence and the growing radicalization of public discourse.
Throughout his remarks, Vance returned to a central theme: victory. He framed victory not as vengeance, but as perseverance — winning elections, enacting policy reforms, and ensuring that the next generation inherits a nation defined by opportunity, sovereignty, and shared values rather than fear and division.
The Vice President concluded by telling the crowd that Charlie Kirk’s vision did not end with his life. As long as Americans are willing to stand for faith, freedom, and country, Vance said, that vision will continue — and it will prevail.
