New York City Mayor Eric Adams says his reelection bid remains strong despite the Campaign Finance Board’s recent decision to deny him matching public funds.
Speaking to reporters, Adams maintained that his campaign is “moving full speed ahead” and that the funding setback will not hinder his outreach or ability to connect with voters. The Campaign Finance Board has not publicly detailed the reasons for its decision, but the ruling means Adams will not receive the additional taxpayer-supported money that many city candidates rely on to boost their campaigns.
Adams, who is seeking a second term, stressed that his team is focusing on grassroots engagement and building support across all five boroughs.
