Dramatic CCTV footage from Guangdong, China, captured the shocking moment a black hatchback lost control and plunged straight into a swimming pool at the Humen Fumin Swimming Centre.

The car can be seen smashing through bushes and a wall before splashing into the water, sending waves across the pool as stunned onlookers looked on.

Lifeguards and bystanders rushed into action, quickly diving in to rescue the driver and passengers trapped inside the vehicle. Miraculously, all occupants escaped unharmed.

Local authorities are investigating what caused the driver to lose control, but early reports suggest it may have been a pedal error or mechanical issue.

The dramatic footage has since gone viral across Chinese social media, sparking both shock and relief that no one — including swimmers in the pool — was seriously hurt.
