WASHINGTON, D.C. — President Donald Trump unveiled the Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity, a landmark initiative designed to facilitate dialogue and build lasting relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia. The agreement allows for unimpeded connectivity between the two nations and their people, marking the end of more than 35 years of conflict.

“It’s a long time… 35 years they fought — and now, they’re friends,” President Trump said during the White House ceremony. “It’s a big, beautiful honor to welcome everyone to the White House for this very historic peace summit between Armenia and Azerbaijan.”

The accord not only cements peace but also opens a new chapter in U.S. relations with both nations. President Trump announced that the United States is signing bilateral agreements with Armenia and Azerbaijan to expand cooperation in energy, trade, and technology — including artificial intelligence. He also confirmed the lifting of restrictions on U.S.–Azerbaijan defense cooperation.

“For more than 35 years, Armenia and Azerbaijan have fought a bitter conflict that resulted in tremendous suffering. Many tried to find a resolution, but they were unsuccessful. With this Accord, we’ve finally succeeded in making peace,” Trump said.

The president highlighted this achievement as part of a broader peace effort, noting previous U.S.-brokered agreements between India and Pakistan, the Congo and Rwanda, and Thailand and Cambodia. “We’ve saved a lot of lives,” Trump added.
