GAZA CITY – An Israeli air strike on the Mushtaha Tower in western Gaza City caused the entire high-rise structure to collapse on Thursday, following an earlier evacuation order issued to residents.
The building, also referred to as the Burj Mushtaha in Al-Katiba, was reportedly being used by Hamas, according to Israeli sources. Footage from the scene showed the moment the tower crumbled to the ground, sending plumes of smoke and dust across the area.
No immediate reports of casualties have been confirmed, with officials noting that the prior evacuation likely reduced the risk of civilian injuries.
The strike is the latest in a series of escalating attacks in Gaza, as Israel continues its campaign against Hamas infrastructure across the territory. The targeting of high-rise towers, often alleged to house Hamas offices or assets, has become a recurring feature of the conflict, drawing both military justification and international scrutiny.
