The blast occurred at a Cleveland Public Power substation and quickly spread fire to several nearby utility poles, plunging large sections of the area into darkness.

Nighttime video from the scene shows intense blue electrical arcs flashing across power lines, followed by orange flames climbing utility poles as thick smoke billowed into the air. Witnesses can be heard reacting in alarm as the electrical infrastructure continued to spark and burn, illuminating nearby buildings and streets.

City officials confirmed that more than 1,000 residents lost electricity as a result of the incident. Emergency crews responded swiftly to contain the fires and secure the affected area, working to prevent further damage to surrounding neighborhoods.
