SCOTLAND - In a joint appearance with UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer, U.S. President Donald Trump reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to addressing the humanitarian crisis in Gaza, with a clear and urgent focus on feeding children.
“We also discussed, obviously, Gaza ... We want to get the children fed,” President Trump said during the meeting.
The statement comes amid a renewed international push to alleviate suffering in the region, following months of armed conflict and aid disruption. President Trump’s remarks highlighted the $60 million U.S. food aid package recently committed to Gaza, underscoring Washington’s direct involvement in global relief efforts.
The two leaders reportedly discussed coordination strategies between the U.S., UK, and international aid partners to expand the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF) efforts. The New Yorker reported on July 24, 2025, that aid sites were now operational across northern and central Gaza, providing food, water, and limited medical care to displaced civilians.
President Trump’s message resonated with his previous statements calling for more global participation in Gaza aid, reiterating that “it’s not a U.S. problem, it’s an international problem,” but making clear that America would continue to lead.
Prime Minister Starmer voiced solidarity with the U.S. mission, and British humanitarian groups are expected to begin coordinating logistics alongside GHF and the United Nations to improve access and security for aid convoys in the coming weeks.
With over 95 million meals already delivered through American-led efforts, the Trump administration’s aid diplomacy is becoming a central part of the evolving humanitarian landscape in Gaza.
