WASHINGTON, D.C. — House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) offered strong praise for President Donald Trump’s current term in office, highlighting what he described as a string of significant accomplishments by the administration.
“This Trump term has done so many great things already,” Johnson said during a press availability outside the Capitol. “We’ve restored American strength, revitalized the economy, and put the interests of our citizens first again. We are finally seeing the results of bold, America-first leadership.”
Speaker Johnson specifically pointed to gains in economic performance, efforts on border security, and a strong stance on foreign policy as major achievements. He also praised Trump’s executive orders and negotiations that have aimed to streamline federal agencies, protect American energy production, and support Israel.
The Speaker emphasized that the Republican majority in Congress is working hand-in-hand with the Trump White House to deliver on promises made during the 2024 campaign. “This is a partnership that’s delivering results,” Johnson added.
The statement comes as President Trump’s approval rating remains strong among Republican voters, bolstered by recent trade agreements, actions on immigration, and a more assertive foreign policy stance, including in Ukraine, Gaza, and China.
While critics continue to challenge aspects of the administration’s style and approach, supporters like Speaker Johnson argue that substantive policy gains are reshaping the political landscape in Washington.
