ERUSALEM — U.S. House Speaker Mike Johnson led a Republican congressional delegation to Israel’s Temple Mount on Sunday, delivering a bold message of solidarity and faith.

Wearing a kippah, Johnson was seen praying at the Western Wall before making a brief public statement:

“Our prayer is that America will always stand with Israel and that we pray for the preservation and peace of Jerusalem. That’s what scripture tells us to do — it’s a matter of faith for us — and a commitment that we have.”

The symbolic gesture and public prayer underscore the deepening ties between U.S. Republican leadership and Israel, especially during a time of regional tension and global scrutiny.

The visit comes amid broader U.S. efforts to reaffirm support for Israel in both military and diplomatic arenas.
