U.S. Vice President JD Vance downplayed speculation about his political future after President Donald Trump recently called him the Republican Party’s frontrunner for the 2028 presidential race.

Speaking during a meeting with UK Prime Minister David Lammy, Vance was asked about his potential candidacy. His response was clear: “Not really focused…” — signalling that his attention remains on current responsibilities rather than future campaigns.

The remark comes as Vance continues a high-profile trip to the United Kingdom, where he has engaged in discussions on pressing global issues, including the Gaza conflict, the war in Ukraine, and U.S.-UK relations.

While political watchers in Washington are already eyeing the 2028 race, Vance’s comments suggest he intends to keep the spotlight on policy, not personal ambition — at least for now.
