A massive fire broke out this morning on the rooftop of a seven-story residential building at 305 E. 95th Street in Manhattan’s Upper East Side, sending thick black smoke into the sky and prompting a swift, large-scale response from the FDNY.

The blaze, reported shortly after 10 a.m., was quickly escalated to a three-alarm fire. Witnesses described hearing a loud “explosion” moments before flames and smoke began pouring from the rooftop.

Over 100 firefighters and EMS personnel responded to the scene, working to contain the fire and ensure the safety of residents and nearby buildings. As of now, no fatalities have been reported, though the cause of the fire remains under investigation.

The incident has rattled the normally quiet residential neighborhood, with emergency crews continuing operations as smoke lingers over the city skyline.
