Ukrainian emergency crews are battling a massive fire in the Odesa region after an overnight Russian drone attack, officials confirmed.

The strike ignited widespread flames that tore through the area, leaving heavy damage and plumes of smoke visible for miles. Authorities reported that at least one person was injured in the assault, though the full extent of casualties and structural losses is still being assessed.

Firefighters worked through the night to contain the blaze, while air defense units continued to intercept incoming drones targeting southern Ukraine.

The Odesa region has been a frequent target of Russian strikes due to its strategic position on the Black Sea and its role in Ukrainian grain exports.

This latest attack underscores the ongoing vulnerability of civilian infrastructure, as Russia intensifies its campaign against key Ukrainian cities and supply routes.
