Wilmington, North Carolina — Newly released dashcam footage has revealed the terrifying moment a massive explosion ripped through the Eastern Carolina Veterinary Referral building on Tuesday morning.
The explosion occurred shortly after a car veered off the road, slammed into the building, and ruptured a gas line. Within moments, the structure erupted into flames, sending thick black smoke and debris into the air.
The driver fled the scene but was apprehended shortly after by authorities.
Three firefighters were injured while responding to the blaze and remain hospitalized. Miraculously, no civilians were inside the building at the time of the blast.
