TEL AVIV — On World Humanitarian Day, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) highlighted its role not only in defending Israel but also in providing life-saving humanitarian missions worldwide.

In a statement titled “IDF Humanitarian Missions: Aid Across the Globe,” the military emphasized that its mission to save lives “goes beyond borders.”

“We are the IDF. Our purpose is to preserve the State of Israel, to protect its independence, and to stop its enemies from disrupting everyday life for Israel's citizens and residents,” the statement read.

The IDF has been involved in numerous humanitarian efforts globally, including disaster relief missions, medical assistance, and search-and-rescue operations following natural catastrophes.

Officials say these missions reflect a core belief that protecting human life is central to the IDF’s values, whether inside Israel or abroad.
