President Donald Trump continues to gain traction with working-class Democrats, according to Fox & Friends Weekend co-host Charlie Hurt, who argues the trend spells serious challenges for the Democratic Party.
Speaking on the program, Hurt pointed to growing dissatisfaction among traditional Democratic voters, particularly in industrial and rural areas, who feel their concerns about jobs, inflation, and cultural identity are being ignored. He noted that Trump’s populist message, centered on economic nationalism and skepticism toward political elites, has resonated deeply with these communities.
Hurt also referenced criticism of Democrats aired on a recent left-leaning podcast, saying it reflects broader fractures within the party. “Democrats are in deep trouble,” Hurt said, suggesting that the party’s leadership has grown disconnected from the very voters who once formed the backbone of its coalition.
