Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov issued a stern warning on Sunday, declaring that any aggression against Russia would be met with a “decisive response.”
Speaking in defense of Moscow’s position, Lavrov dismissed Western claims that Russia had engaged in incursions into European and NATO airspace, calling such accusations “provocations” that President Vladimir Putin had already “debunked.”
“Russia is being accused of almost planning to attack the North Atlantic Alliance and European Union countries,” Lavrov said. “President Putin has repeatedly debunked these provocations. Russia does not have and does not intend to have any such intentions.”/Despite the denial, Lavrov doubled down on his warning, stating: “Any aggression against my country will be met with a decisive response. Let there be no doubt about this in NATO and the EU.”
The comments come amid ongoing tensions between Russia and the West, particularly following Moscow’s war in Ukraine and the increased military readiness of NATO members bordering Russian territory.
