An Illinois man was arrested after intentionally ramming into a police car during a traffic stop, later telling officers he did it because he “hates cops.”

The incident occurred Wednesday (September 24) in Fairview Heights, where body cam footage shows an officer approaching a vehicle during a routine stop just as 28-year-old Keajion L. Jennings crashed into the back of the patrol car.

When asked why he crashed, Jennings admitted he had been drinking and “took some weed pills.” He later confessed to the officer that he carried out the act on purpose because he was “bored” and “hates cops.”

Jennings was taken into custody and booked into St. Clair County Jail. He faces multiple charges, including one count of criminal damage to government property, two counts of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, and one count of aggravated battery with a motor vehicle.
