The Israeli Navy has intercepted the last vessel from a flotilla attempting to breach the maritime blockade of Gaza, according to a live-streamed broadcast.

The ship, identified as The Marinette, had experienced mechanical issues and lagged behind the main armada of 41 vessels. Israeli forces from the elite Shayetet 13 naval commando unit boarded the vessel and took control.

Authorities have not yet disclosed details about the passengers or their intended cargo. The interception marks the final step in Israel’s efforts to prevent the flotilla from reaching Gaza by sea.

Israeli officials maintain the blockade is necessary for security reasons, while critics argue it worsens the humanitarian situation in Gaza.
