Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said that Russia fears the power of U.S.-made Tomahawk cruise missiles, calling them a decisive factor in deterring further aggression.

“I think that Russia is afraid about Tomahawks, really afraid, because it’s [a] strong weapon,” Zelensky told journalists outside the White House following his meeting with President Donald J. Trump.

The comment came after high-level talks between the two leaders on strengthening U.S.-Ukraine defense cooperation. Zelensky’s remarks underscore Ukraine’s confidence in Washington’s continued military and strategic support, especially as tensions with Moscow persist.

Tomahawk missiles, capable of long-range precision strikes, have long been a symbol of U.S. technological and military superiority. Their potential deployment or sale to allied nations in Eastern Europe has drawn sharp reactions from Russia, which views the weapons as a significant threat to its military infrastructure.

Both Trump and Zelensky signaled optimism after their meeting, emphasizing unity and shared goals in defending Ukraine’s sovereignty while maintaining global stability through deterrence.
