A street vegetable vendor narrowly escaped serious injury after a speeding car crashed into his cart in Faridabad, Haryana, in a dramatic incident caught on CCTV. The crash occurred on January 1 in a narrow lane of Sanjay Colony in Sector 23, highlighting ongoing concerns about reckless driving in residential areas.
Video footage from a nearby security camera shows the car entering the lane at high speed. Moments before impact, the vendor hears a horn and turns around to see the vehicle rapidly approaching. Reacting instantly, he jumps away from his cart just seconds before the car slams into it.
The impact was severe, sending vegetables flying across the street and splintering the wooden cart into pieces. Had the vendor hesitated even briefly, the outcome could have been catastrophic. The footage has since circulated locally, drawing attention to the dangers faced by street vendors working in tight, unprotected spaces along busy roads.
Following the incident, the vendor filed a formal complaint at Gauchi police station. Authorities confirmed that efforts are underway to identify the vehicle involved and trace the driver responsible for the crash. No injuries were reported, but the vendor’s livelihood was significantly damaged as a result of the collision.
