Trump Accuses Obama of Treason Over 2016 Election, Echoes Tulsi Gabbard’s Explosive Claims

WASHINGTON, D.C. — President Donald J. Trump has publicly accused former President Barack Obama and top officials from his administration of treason, alleging they orchestrated a deliberate attempt to sabotage the 2016 election by fabricating intelligence about Russian interference.

Trump’s claims align with a recent explosive report from Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard, who called for criminal prosecution of Obama-era officials, asserting they were involved in a “treasonous conspiracy” to derail Trump’s presidential campaign through politically motivated investigations.

“They manufactured intelligence, they spied on my campaign, and they tried to steal the election,” Trump said. “Barack Obama knew what was going on — and there must be serious consequences.”

Gabbard’s report has reignited partisan debate in Washington. She alleges that senior intelligence and Justice Department officials knowingly misled the American public and federal courts by exaggerating or falsifying claims of collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia.

This position directly contradicts the findings of Special Counsel Robert Mueller, whose investigation confirmed that Russia interfered in the 2016 election, but did not establish a criminal conspiracy between Trump’s team and the Kremlin.

Critics of the former president and Gabbard’s report argue that the accusations are politically charged and lack new substantiated evidence. They also warn that such rhetoric could undermine public trust in intelligence agencies and democratic institutions.

Supporters, however, say the report provides long-awaited confirmation that top government officials abused their power, and that those responsible should be held accountable — regardless of political affiliation.
