WASHINGTON, D.C. — President Donald Trump expressed confidence in America’s economic future amid the rapid rise of artificial intelligence (AI), saying the technology will boost efficiency while ultimately expanding job opportunities for American workers.

“It’s going to balance out I think perfectly… We have plants going up all over the United States… We need efficiency, but we’re going to be much bigger — and the end result is, you’re going to need jobs even more,” Trump said during remarks on the future of the U.S. workforce.

Trump’s comments reflect his administration’s focus on reindustrialization, emphasizing that while AI may disrupt certain roles, it will also fuel economic growth and expansion, leading to greater demand for skilled labor.

Citing new factories and infrastructure projects across the country, the president argued that technology and labor are not in conflict — and that America must embrace innovation while protecting workers through strong trade, training, and manufacturing policies.

His stance contrasts with growing concerns from some economists and labor groups who fear widespread job displacement due to automation and AI-driven systems.
