CORNWALL, UK — A dramatic police operation ended in the arrest of two suspected drug smugglers after a 28-mile high-speed sea chase off the Cornish coast, where officers seized over $24 million worth of cocaine from an inflatable boat.

The suspects, Scott Johnston and Edwin Yahir Tabora Baca, attempted to flee when authorities approached their vessel, triggering a marine pursuit that eventually saw their boat run aground. Bodycam and aerial footage show the moment officers chased and arrested the men on foot moments later.

Authorities confirmed the seized packages tested positive for cocaine, with a street value exceeding $24 million. The bust marks one of the largest drug seizures in the region in recent years.

"This was a brazen smuggling attempt that ended with a major win for law enforcement," said a police spokesperson. "The coordinated response at sea and on land prevented a huge quantity of dangerous drugs from hitting our streets."

The men are now in custody and face serious trafficking charges as investigations continue.
