Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) took aim at California Governor Gavin Newsom over redistricting, accusing him of hypocrisy and dishonesty during an appearance on Life, Liberty & Levin.

Cruz argued that Democrats have engaged in gerrymandering while simultaneously condemning Republicans for similar practices. He singled out Newsom as a prime example of what he called a double standard.

“He is dishonest and he is a hypocrite,” Cruz said, charging that California’s political leadership has manipulated district maps to maintain Democratic dominance.

The Texas senator framed redistricting battles as part of a larger fight over election integrity and political fairness, warning that Democrats’ moves undermine public trust.

The comments come as both parties continue to spar nationwide over district lines, a central issue that could shape control of Congress in future elections.
