The Isle of Wight is reeling this morning after a tragic helicopter crash claimed the lives of three people and left one seriously injured.

The aircraft, operated by Northumbria Helicopters, was carrying four individuals, including the pilot, when it came down in a field near Ventnor on Sunday morning.

Emergency services rushed to the site after being alerted at 9:24 a.m. that the helicopter had crashed close to the A3020 Shanklin Road. Despite swift response efforts, police confirmed that three passengers died at the scene. The fourth person was taken to hospital in serious condition.
