President Donald Trump announced that the U.S. Space Command headquarters will officially relocate to Huntsville, Alabama—widely known as “Rocket City.”

“I am thrilled to report that the U.S. Space Command headquarters will move to the beautiful locale of a place called Huntsville, Alabama—forever to be known, from this point forward, as Rocket City,” Trump said.

The decision is expected to create more than 30,000 jobs in Alabama and bring billions of dollars in new investment. According to Trump, the move is not only an economic boost for the state but also a strategic step to ensure that America can “defend and dominate the High Frontier.”

Trump highlighted his first term achievements in space defense, including the creation of the United States Space Force and the re-establishment of U.S. Space Command to protect America’s satellites and guard against potential threats.

He also criticized the Biden administration for previously blocking the relocation. “We initially selected Huntsville for the Space Com headquarters, yet those plans were wrongfully obstructed by the Biden administration... Today, we're moving forward with what we want to do,” Trump stated.

With the headquarters move finalized, Alabama cements its place at the center of U.S. space defense and innovation.
