Rescuers in Sochi, Russia, saved a family with a six-month-old baby after they became lost in the Mamedovo Gorge, a rugged area that had filled with water.
Local authorities reported that the family had wandered into the gorge and struggled to find their way out as darkness fell and conditions grew more dangerous. Emergency teams were dispatched and successfully located the group, ensuring the baby and parents were brought to safety without injury.
The dramatic rescue highlighted both the risks of venturing into difficult terrain without preparation and the quick response of emergency services in preventing a potential tragedy.
Officials have since reminded hikers and families to exercise caution in the region’s gorges, especially during the rainy season when rising water levels can turn otherwise scenic routes into hazardous traps.
