A former Miami-Dade police officer has been arrested after allegedly posing as a cop in a Florida neighborhood.

Bodycam footage shows deputies confronting 39-year-old Paul Fluty in Deltona after he flashed an old badge and claimed to be working on a task force. Authorities later confirmed that Fluty is no longer with the Miami-Dade Police Department and was instead working as a private investigator at the time of the incident.

Fluty now faces charges of impersonating a law enforcement officer, a serious offense under Florida law. Officials emphasized the potential dangers of such acts, warning that impersonators undermine public trust in law enforcement and can place residents at risk.

The Miami-Dade Police Department has not yet commented on the arrest.
