A released footage from Hamas shows the final preparations before the handover of Israeli hostage Rom Braslavski, who was wrongly identified in the video as “Rom Parslavski” and described as a soldier. The video, filmed on October 13, 2025, was reportedly taken just before his release as part of a ceasefire deal that freed 20 Israeli hostages in exchange for Palestinian prisoners.

In the footage, Braslavski appears visibly distressed and is seen delivering statements praising his captors and warning of future hostage releases — remarks believed to have been made under coercion.

The 21-year-old civilian security guard was abducted on October 7, 2023, during the Nova music festival massacre, and spent two years in captivity in Gaza. His family has long campaigned for his safe return, joining international calls for the release of all remaining hostages.

Human rights organizations have condemned Hamas’s use of hostage videos as propaganda tools, describing them as psychological warfare tactics that violate international humanitarian law.

Braslavski’s release marks another significant step in the fragile peace process and ongoing humanitarian efforts tied to the broader Gaza ceasefire agreement.
