Never Again: Kibbutz Residents Drill to Defend Against Mass Terror Attack Before IDF Arrives

At Kibbutz Bror Hayil near Gaza, Israeli civilian defense teams conducted intense training exercises to prepare for a potential mass terrorist infiltration similar to the horrors of October 7. The drill included simulated attacks on a kindergarten, casualty treatment, and emergency evacuation procedures. These realistic scenarios ensure communities can respond effectively in the critical minutes before the Israel Defense Forces can arrive.

The training is organized by Magen48, an organization named in memory of the 48 first responders killed on October 7. Magen48 has already trained over 1,500 civilians through more than 550 sessions, teaching essential skills including weapons handling, coordination, medical response, and defensive tactics. Retired British Colonel Richard Kemp described the exercise as one of the most complex he had ever witnessed.

The painful lessons of October 7 have driven a powerful shift toward self-reliance and preparedness in Israel’s border communities. Israelis are determined never again to be caught unprepared against ruthless terrorists. This proactive approach reflects the nation’s unbreakable resolve to protect its people and ensure that future attacks are met with immediate, effective resistance.
