Turkey Transfers Massive U.S. Weapons Package to Ukraine

Turkey is transferring a substantial package of U.S.-origin weapons to Ukraine valued at nearly $300 million, according to State Department notifications. The deal includes 70 M39 ATACMS ballistic missiles with a 165-kilometer range, 12 M270 MLRS launchers, 2,524 cluster rockets, and 47,000 cluster artillery shells. U.S. officials approved the third-party transfer after congressional review, with the weapons moving through Turkish firms and logistics partners. Turkey is using the arrangement to offload older stockpiles as part of its own military modernization efforts.
