Several boats were destroyed after a fire broke out at Marina 59 on Beach 59th Street in the Arverne neighborhood of Far Rockaway, Queens.
Video from the scene shows thick smoke billowing into the air as flames consumed multiple vessels docked at the marina. Witnesses reported hearing loud popping sounds, possibly from fuel tanks or onboard equipment, as the fire spread.
The FDNY responded quickly, deploying marine units and land-based crews to contain the blaze and prevent it from reaching nearby structures. No injuries have been reported, and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
