The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced that soldiers from the 474th Brigade uncovered multiple weapons caches during a series of nighttime operations in southern Syria.
According to the IDF, the caches contained rocket-propelled grenades (RPGs), AK-47 assault rifles, and various explosive devices. Several suspects were also captured during the raids and taken for questioning.
Military officials say the discovery highlights ongoing security threats along Israel’s northern border, where militant groups continue to smuggle and stockpile weapons in proximity to Israeli territory. The IDF emphasized that its forces remain on high alert to prevent the transfer of arms and to disrupt terrorist activity before it can pose a direct threat.
The operations are part of broader regional security efforts aimed at curbing Iranian-backed influence and militant buildup in Syria, which has escalated in recent years.
