A Massachusetts police officer has been placed on leave after a viral video showed him becoming “suddenly incapacitated” during an incident in Lynn.
The video, which has racked up more than 9 million views on X, shows the officer struggling to stand upright while gripping the back of a car for balance. At one point, he appears to have difficulty speaking as the individual recording hurls insults at him.
In a statement, the Lynn Police Department said the officer appeared to have suffered a “medical related episode.” Officials emphasized that the situation is under review and that the officer will remain on leave while his condition is evaluated.
The viral clip has sparked widespread debate online, with some viewers questioning the officer’s health while others criticized the tone of the confrontation. Authorities said no further details about the officer’s identity or medical status will be released at this time.
