The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) uncovered a network of Hamas underground tunnels located directly beneath the Jordanian Hospital in Gaza. According to Israeli intelligence, the tunnel route was part of a Hamas military outpost reportedly used by the group’s platoon and company commanders.

Officials stated that Hamas’ use of areas near the Jordanian Hospital highlights the organization’s continued exploitation of Gazan civilians as human shields. The IDF emphasized that the Jordanian medical staff had no involvement or prior knowledge of Hamas’ activities in the area.

Troops are now conducting mapping operations to fully expose the tunnel system and prevent future militant use of the site. The IDF also announced plans to expand operations to other locations where intelligence suggests additional terrorist infrastructure may exist.
