Ukraine launched a salvo of at least six Flamingo FP-5 cruise missiles overnight, targeting the Russian GRAU ammunition depot in Kotluban, Volgograd region. The strike, confirmed by Ukraine's General Staff, marks the second Flamingo hit on Russian military sites in one week and demonstrates Kyiv’s growing precision-strike capabilities.

Footage from the operation shows nighttime missile launches, with the Flamingo missiles—an indigenously developed system boasting over 400 km of range—successfully reaching the depot despite Russian electronic warfare countermeasures. The strike triggered massive secondary explosions at the historic WWII-era site near Stalingrad, disrupting Russian logistics and storage of ammunition critical to ongoing operations in the region.

The Flamingo FP-5, upgraded specifically to overcome electronic warfare systems, represents a significant enhancement in Ukraine's long-range precision strike arsenal. Analysts note that targeting ammunition depots has both tactical and psychological impact, potentially delaying Russian resupply operations and undermining frontline effectiveness.

This operation underscores Ukraine's continued focus on attrition tactics, striking key infrastructure deep behind Russian lines while minimizing risk to its own forces. The repeated Flamingo missile strikes also highlight Kyiv’s ability to operate under contested airspace conditions and counter advanced electronic interference.

Officials and military analysts expect further targeted strikes as Ukraine seeks to degrade Russian operational capabilities and secure strategic advantages along the Eastern front. The Kotluban depot strike demonstrates the evolving balance of power in precision missile warfare and Ukraine’s commitment to maintaining pressure on critical Russian logistics hubs.
