U.S. Central Command reported that American forces have redirected 130 commercial vessels while enforcing the ongoing naval blockade against Iran, which resumed on July 14 at President Trump’s direction. Three ships that refused to comply were disabled during the operation. Over the past 12 weeks, U.S. forces have also destroyed 13 commercial vessels accused of violating the blockade or operating as part of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps’ multibillion-dollar shadow network. CENTCOM Commander Adm. Brad Cooper stated that the U.S. military remains intensely focused on the mission and will act swiftly against any vessel attempting to run the blockade. He described American forces as highly trained, professional, and lethal in carrying out the enforcement. The latest redirection of a commercial vessel was recorded on October 5 as the campaign continued in the Middle East.

The blockade targets ships attempting to enter or depart Iranian ports and forms a central element of current U.S. pressure on Tehran. Officials advised mariners operating in the Gulf of Oman and the approaches to the Strait of Hormuz to monitor Notice to Mariners broadcasts and maintain contact with U.S. naval forces. The sustained effort has combined redirection of compliant traffic with decisive action against those that resist or are linked to prohibited networks. CENTCOM emphasized that the operation remains active and that forces are prepared to respond immediately to further attempts to breach the restrictions. The figures released on the number of redirected, disabled, and destroyed vessels underscore the scale of the enforcement since the blockade was reinstated. As the mission continues, the United States signals that non-compliance will carry clear and immediate consequences.
