Thousands of bnei Torah from Tiberias and the surrounding area gathered Wednesday for a major “Ritcha D’Oraisa” Torah gathering led by HaRav Dov Lando, Rosh Yeshiva of Slabodka.

The gathering was held at the Armonia halls in Tiberias, where the large crowd joined in Torah discussion before hearing divrei chizuk from the Rosh Yeshiva. The event concluded with spirited dancing, footage of which showed the packed hall joining together in song.

HaRav Lando had traveled to the area in connection with a Keren Olam HaTorah conference for supporters of Torah institutions at the Setai hotel near the Kinneret. His presence in the region provided the opportunity for local organizers to arrange the separate gathering for Tiberias’s growing Torah community.

In remarks following the Torah gathering, HaRav Lando pointed to the growth of the Olam HaTorah in Tiberias, noting that hundreds of bnei Torah from a range of communities have established their homes in the city in recent years. He stressed the centrality of limud haTorah and then addressed the mounting difficulties facing Torah learners.

“Everyone knows that the Olam HaTorah is in a very difficult situation,” HaRav Lando said, adding that government pressures on the Torah world have been growing and are being felt by individual lomdei Torah.

The Rosh Yeshiva emphasized that the Torah community should not place its reliance on any particular political leader or government, saying its dependence is ultimately on the Ribbono Shel Olam. With the Yemei HaDin approaching, he called for increased Torah learning and maasim tovim and for seeking greater rachamim for the Olam HaTorah.

The Tiberias gathering is part of a series of large “Ritcha D’Oraisa” events led by HaRav Lando in different communities, centered on direct engagement in Torah between the Rosh Yeshiva, talmidei chachamim and the broader Torah public.
