Heavy Traffic to Yerushalayim Following Police Incident on Route 443

Severe traffic delays were reported on Route 443 heading into Yerushalayim following an incident involving a police cruiser at a checkpoint.

According to reports, officers had to remove the police vehicle from the checkpoint, a move that resulted in the complete blockage of the major highway leading into the city. The exact nature of the incident involving the police car remains unclear, as does the reason it needed to be removed from the scene. Thankfully, no injuries have been reported.

The road closure caused massive gridlock and significant frustration for drivers making their way to the capital. Compounding the issue, unusually heavy nighttime traffic was also reported on Route 1, leaving both main arteries into Yerushalayim severely congested.

Video footage circulating from the scene shows a massive police presence and heavy activity on the highway in the middle of the night, corroborating reports of the late-night gridlock. It remains unknown exactly how long Route 443 was shut down before traffic was allowed to resume.
