The soldier seriously wounded in Wednesday’s Route 443 terror attack has been identified as Neria Dov Leiter, the son of Israel’s Ambassador to the United States, Yechiel Leiter.

Neria, approximately 30 years old, suffered a serious head injury in the ramming attack and was transported to Shaare Zedek Medical Center unconscious, sedated and on a ventilator. His condition remains serious.

His father said medical teams at Shaare Zedek are fighting to save his son's life and appealed for tefillos on his behalf.

“I believe in the power of prayer, and I believe that when the people of Israel unite, miracles happen. Neria needs a miracle.”

The Leiter family previously suffered the loss of Neria’s older brother, Maj. (res.) Moshe Yedidya Leiter, Hy”d, who was killed in Gaza in November 2023. Neria subsequently continued serving in the reserves, accumulating hundreds of days of reserve duty, according to his father.
