IDF Paratroopers have completed a three-month mission in Gaza and are now transitioning to operations in Judea and Samaria. During their time in the coastal territory the brigade dismantled and sealed 13 kilometers of tunnels, including a section of the tunnel network where Lieutenant Hadar Goldin was held. Troops also destroyed Hamas infrastructure, seized a range of weapons, and established stronger defensive positions. The conclusion of the mission marks a shift in the unit’s focus from Gaza to the West Bank.

As part of their work the paratroopers established new routes and military posts designed to reinforce Israel’s defensive posture around the Yellow Line. Forces located and dismantled additional Hamas infrastructure while recovering RPGs, mortars, grenades, missile launchers, and large quantities of ammunition. These actions formed a core element of the brigade’s effort to reduce immediate threats in the areas under their responsibility. The recovered weaponry provides clear evidence of the scale of military material that had been hidden in the zone.

IDF Southern Command forces remain deployed in accordance with the existing ceasefire framework. Officials stated that the troops will continue removing immediate threats even as specific units rotate to new assignments. The continued presence under the ceasefire terms is intended to maintain security while other brigades complete their transitions. The paratroopers’ departure from Gaza does not signal an overall reduction in the Southern Command’s operational posture.

The sealing of 13 kilometers of tunnels represents one of the more extensive underground clearance efforts reported in recent months. By including a portion of the tunnel associated with Lieutenant Hadar Goldin, the operation also carried symbolic weight for the Israeli military. Destroying the physical infrastructure and removing the weapons cached inside it were presented as necessary steps to prevent future use by Hamas. The establishment of new defensive posts around the Yellow Line further aims to harden the boundary against potential cross-border activity.

With the Gaza mission complete, the brigade is relocating to Judea and Samaria to begin a new phase of operations. The move reflects the IDF’s practice of rotating units between different theaters according to evolving security priorities. In their final days in Gaza the paratroopers focused on both the destruction of remaining threats and the consolidation of defensive gains. The combination of tunnel sealing, weapons seizures, and new military posts leaves a changed landscape in the areas they previously controlled.

The transition underscores the multi-front nature of current IDF deployments. While Southern Command maintains its presence under the ceasefire, other units such as the paratroopers are being redirected to address security challenges in Judea and Samaria. The three-month effort in Gaza produced measurable results in the form of sealed tunnels, destroyed infrastructure, and recovered armaments. Those outcomes now form the backdrop as the brigade prepares for its next assignment.
