PETAH TIKVA, ISRAEL — Yedidim volunteers safely rescued a two-year-old girl who was accidentally locked inside a vehicle in front of her father in Petah Tikva on Tuesday morning.

The emergency call was received at approximately 9:28 a.m. from Ben-Gurion Street in the city. Dispatcher Matan Simanok received the call and immediately alerted volunteers in the area.

Yedidim CEO Israel Almasi, deputy CEO Leizi Stern, and volunteers Ohad Gibli and Asaf Solomon responded to the scene.

Using specialized equipment, the volunteers quickly opened the locked vehicle and brought the child out safely, without causing damage to the car.

Stern said four volunteers arrived following the call and were able to free the girl within seconds. He said the relieved father repeatedly thanked the volunteers following the rescue.

Yedidim reiterated its warning to parents to keep their vehicle keys with them whenever exiting a car, even briefly, because a vehicle's central locking system can leave a child trapped inside.
