Israeli police arrested a 26-year-old resident of Jisr al-Zarqa after he allegedly ignored a routine traffic stop on Route 4 and attempted to escape from officers. According to police, National Traffic Police officers signaled the driver to pull over for an inspection, but he failed to comply and continued driving toward Or Akiva. The pursuit moved through city streets before the driver abandoned his white sedan near residential buildings and attempted to flee on foot. Officers chased him and apprehended him after a brief pursuit. Police subsequently checked his details and discovered that he had never obtained a driver’s license.

Dashcam footage released alongside the police report captures officers following the vehicle through streets and intersections before continuing the pursuit on foot after the driver exits the car. The incident highlights the risks officers face when drivers refuse to comply with routine traffic enforcement, potentially turning a standard inspection into a dangerous pursuit through populated areas. Driving without ever having obtained a license raises additional concerns about road safety and compliance with Israeli traffic laws. The arrest followed the driver’s reported attempt to evade the officers, although the police account alone does not establish whether any additional offenses will be charged. Further details about possible charges or court proceedings were not provided in the supplied report.
