Great concern swept through the Belz community on Sunday morning when the Belzer Rebbe was suddenly rushed to Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospital just moments before the start of Selichos rishonos.

The Rebbe reportedly experienced severe breathing difficulties, prompting his immediate transfer to the hospital, where doctors conducted a series of medical evaluations.

Back in the Belz Beis Medrash Hagadol, tens of thousands of chassidim waited anxiously for nearly five hours with no clear updates on the Rebbe’s condition. Following the prolonged delay, the Rebbe’s son, Harav Aharon Mordechai Rokeach, stepped up to the amud to lead Selichos at a very late hour.

An official announcement regarding the Rebbe's hospitalization was made to the tzibur immediately after Selichos. The massive crowd of chassidim then recited Tehillim b'rov am. Klal Yisroel is urged to daven and tear the heavens for the Rebbe's complete refuah sheleimah.

The name for Tehillim is Rav Yissachar Dov ben Miriam b'soch shaar cholei Yisroel.

The sudden hospitalization comes just days after a new, elevated bimah was constructed in the heichal to prevent dangerous crowding and pushing around the Rebbe during the upcoming Yomim Noraim. It also follows an uplifting Selichos maamad held just last week, where the Rebbe appeared before thousands of youth from the Tzohar organization.
