BORO PARK — Preparations are underway for a major free Chol Hamoed Sukkos extravaganza set to bring rides, entertainment and family activities to 18th Avenue in Boro Park.

Organizers from the Boro Park Jewish Community Council joined members of the NYPD's 66th Precinct and Boro Park Shomrim for an on-site safety walkthrough as planning moves forward for the large community event.

The extravaganza is scheduled for Thursday, October 1, the fourth day of Chol Hamoed Sukkos, from 12:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m.

BPJCC says the program will feature rides, live entertainment, concerts, shows, carnival attractions, petting zoos, giveaways and additional activities, all available to families free of charge. A large sukkah is also planned for the site.

The Sukkos event builds on BPJCC's popular Chol Hamoed Pesach programming, which has drawn thousands of local children and families. Organizers say this marks the first time in many years that the large-scale program is being expanded to Chol Hamoed Sukkos.

The program is being sponsored with funding secured by State Senator Sam Sutton in partnership with Assemblyman Simcha Eichenstein.

Additional details about the event are expected to be announced as preparations continue.
